If at first you don't succeed...

Timbaland's Intro:
It's been a long time,
we shouldn't have left you left you,
without a dope beat to step to step to, step to, step to

Verse 1:
What would you do, to get to me?
What would say, to have your way?
Would you give up or try again,
If I hesitate to let you in?
Now would you be yourself, or play role?
Tell all the boys, or keep it low?
If I say no, would you turn away,
Or play me off or would you stay (oooohhh)...

Chorus:
If at first you don't succeed
(first you don't succeed),
then dust yourself off and try again
You can dust if off and try again, try again
'Cause if at first you don't succeed
(at first you don't succeed)
You can dust it off and try again,
dust yourself off and try again, try again,

Verse 2:
I'm into you, you into me,
but I can't let it go, so easily,
Not 'till I see, where this could be,
could be eternally, or just week,
You know our chemistry, is off the chain
It's perfect now, but will it change?
This ain't a yes, this ain't a no
Just do your thang,
and we'll see how it goes (oooohhh)...

Chorus

Bridge:
See you don't wanna throw it all away,
I might be shy on the first day,
but what about the next day (huh, huh, huh, huh)
See you don't wanna throw it all away,
I might be buggin' on the first day but
what about the next day (huh, huh, huh, huh)

Chorus

Timbaland's Outro:
It's been a long time, we shouldn't have left you left you,
without a dope beat to step to step to, step to, step to

"Try Again" - Aaliyah

A bit corny, I know - but hey it has been a while, right? What can I say - things have been busy for me. Traveling for work, traveling for pleasure, and working on a new project - my parent's old house.

I would have moved into this house a long time ago had it not been for the tenants that were in the house... these same tenants were responsible for setting some furniture on fire in the basement... and had the nerve to try and tell investigators that the house had faulty wiring...

It's quite a humbling experience to see the house that you grew up in get damaged in a fire by some people that obviously didn't care about the place I once called home.

I have a long way to go with this project, and I certainly have already learned a valuable and costly lesson or two... but with any luck, I think that I have turned a corner, and things are going to work out.

Welcome back to blogger. It is humbling to see people treat something you hold dear so carelessly. However, at least you know that the home will be restored to its rightful glory because you will make the rejuvenation a labor of love.

Ok Karl! First of all, good to see YOU back. Secondly, if I remember the story correctly, wasn't that house semi-haunted? Nevertheless, LOL @ the "faulty wiring" excuse. I can see you repeating that quote to someone with the signature skepticism and probably even an eye-roll to the fact that they tried to insult your intelligence. I have a dream of doing what you're doing right now to my grandmother's house one day. Be sure to throw up those Before-and-After photos when all is done. Peace....
